I have a nonprofit client whose admin left the company and they cannot gain access to their QuickBooks. Only read only and they cannot run reports or do anything. They are now delinquent in filings due to lack of financial reports. I called the helpline and some overseas idiot told me basically what I needed (still not clear), but then said he was restricted from giving me the 800 number to call back when I had the information. Is propriety and they do not give out that information. Really? Then I asked him how the F am I going to call them back! He said he was sorry so I hung up on him. If anyone knows how my client can go about replacing the admin and gaining access, that would be helpful.
hey can submit a request to be the primary admin, @mcbesq. I'll provide the instructions below to facilitate this process and enable your client to gain access to the account successfully.
Given that the previous admin is unreachable and unable to transfer the role to your client, they can still obtain it by submitting a transfer request to our Account Protection team.
Here are the necessary steps to achieve this:
After the submitted documents have been verified and reviewed, your client will receive an email indicating whether their request has been approved or denied.
Moreover, to ensure they follow the entire process and to determine the required documents depending on their business type, please refer to this article: Request to be the primary admin or contact.
I'm also adding these links for your overview of QuickBooks user roles and access topics:
If you have other questions regarding role transfers and any QuickBooks-related tasks, we'll be around to help you more, @mcbesq.
If Intuit refuses to transfer Primary Admin access, consider purchasing a third-party service to migrate your data to a new QBO account.
