Account with zero balance still shows on my open invoice report

I have a customer account that has a zero balance but continues to show up on my open invoice report. I had originally posted a payment to an invoice incorrectly. Two years ago my accountant adjusted the account to a zero balance but the account still shows on my Open Invoices report. Is there any way to fix this?

Account with zero balance still shows on my open invoice report

Welcome to the Community, @sheila70458. Customers with net zero balances in the A/R Aging Summary report are usually the result of an invoice that isn't linked to a payment or credit.

here's how to clear up the net zero balance:

  1. Click the + New menu, then select Receive Payment.
  2. Fill in the customer's name and leave the Amount Received field blank.
  3. Enter the closing date you want to use for an invoice in your reports in the Payment Date.
  4. Put a checkmark next to the invoice to be paid with the credit in Outstanding Transactions.
  5. Put a checkmark next to the Credits, then click Save

There should no longer any zero balances shows in your invoice report. You can chack out this article to learn more about reconciling your transactions in QuickBooks Online.
