Adding an Accountant to a QBO business continues to fail

Ok, I will apologize in advance if this is an inappropriate post BUT I am frustrated with Quickbooks Support (Provisor).  Yes, I realize we are still dealing with a Pandemic but this problem has been going on for over 2 years and every time I have called QB Support (Provisor), and spent about an hour on the phone with someone, I am told it will be sent to the next support level and they will follow up with me.  Yet I am never followed up with either by email or phone.

I have been working with this client for 7 years and about 3 years ago it was requested that I add their outside CPA (tax prep) to QBO so they can have access to the data and make any end-of-year adjustments that might be necessary.

I went through the appropriate steps to add an email address to the business account (as the accountant).  There is already one accountant listed (me) and I am told that QBO will support 2.

Every attempt I have made to add the outside accountant has failed with an error message saying

'Error please try again'

You do not have permission to manage users. Your company admin can help you out.

The issue is I AM the Company Admin for this company's account.

I am trying to be proactive and get this problem resolved this time BEFORE the CPAs ask for it.

I am at a loss as to whom to contact about getting this problem resolved.

I am open to trying any and all suggestions.

Thanks for listening

EJ

Adding an Accountant to a QBO business continues to fail

I know this hasn't been easy for you, GolfNut72.

I lay down some details about inviting an accountant to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, you're allowed to invite up to two accountants. If you use the same login for your QuickBooks Online Accountant and your client's QBO account, please ensure to select your client's company account This way, you'll be recognized as the company admin for the client account.

After that, you can invite another accountant by following the steps outlined in this article: Invite an accountant to review your accounting in QuickBooks Online.

Do you want to add and edit user information for your accounting firm? If so, check out this resource for more insights: Add and manage your accounting team in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

You can reply to this post if you need further assistance about inviting an accountant. I'm always here to help you.

I appreciate your reply and the information you provided BUT I've done that and it still gives me the same error message.  I have two different email accounts set up, one for Quickbooks Accountant and the other as the Administrator of my client's business.  I also made sure that the email as the administrator is the primary administrator.

Also, there is currently only one accountant set up for that account (me) so there is no reason I shouldn't be able to add another accountant.

The most frustrating part of this issue, I have been trying to resolve it for 3 years, and I call ProVisor Support and after spending an hour on the phone with me, they say it will have to go to Engineering or whatever the next level is and I never get any follow up.
