Anyone else have issue w/QB arbitrarily adding transaction that throws books into turmoil. (over 56K) then QB will NOT allow transaction they entered be deleted?

QB changed past reconciliation that had already been completed by adding this amount. All reporting thrown off and all company numbers now incorrect. How can QB even access books without permission?

Reconciling transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) can be challenging, especially when faced with 56K discrepancies you mentioned, Ann.

To resolve this issue, we can begin by reviewing your audit log to check for any changes in your account. QBO doesn't automatically make any modifications unless changes have been made by any of the users with the necessary permission.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings, then select Audit Log.
  2. Use the Filter panel to refine your search by User, Date, or Event.
  3. Click Apply to view the filtered results.

The audit log will show details about transactions and activities based on your selected filters. You can click View in the History column to check who made changes and what actions were taken. You can also check specific user profiles to recognize who made the changes within your account.

You'll notice an indirect edit as an indication that someone in your account has made changes to an existing transaction, such as adjustments to a completed reconciliation. Once you've identified the discrepancy, you can now make the necessary corrections to get you back on track.

Given that you aren't able to delete some of these transactions, I also recommend contacting our Live experts team. Since this is a public forum, our Live support has the necessary tools, like a screen-sharing session, to securely access your account and provide a thorough investigation of your concern.

Feel free to reply to this post if you need further assistance.

No, QB, not true.  Shows that Quickbooks online made disputed transaction.  Have tried repeatedly to talk to a live person without luck.
