Balance sheet by class not working. Allocating everything when entered but BS items show as unallocated. Income statement allocates correctly. What am I missing?

Balance sheet items do not show in proper class column even though the class is being assigned at time of entry. Income statement is working correctly by class.

I understand the importance of procuring accurate information on your reports, Andrea.

We can’t filter your balance sheet by class since headers aren’t linked to classes. However, You can filter your profit and loss by class since details are linked to classes. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon () and select Account and Settings.
  2. Choose the Advanced menu, then select the Categories section to edit.
  3. Click the Track Classes button to turn this feature on.
  4. Under Assign classes, select One for the entire transaction or One for each row in a transaction.
  5. Select Save, then Done.

After this, go to the Business Overview group of reports, then run Profit and Loss by Class. You can modify the reporting period to a specific date. Click Run report.

When generating the same reports in the future, you can refer to this article to save time: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

So Quickbooks lied to me! Great, not only are they overcharging but it's for a program that doesn't work. I've been using Quickbooks Premier Pro desktop for years with no problems allocating and reporting the balance sheet by class. When they wanted to charge me over $1,000 to renew this, I called very irate. I was told I could get Quickbooks online for about half that (still a ridiculous amount). I specifically stated I needed to report the balance sheet by class. I was assured the online program they were going to change me to would do this. He swore this was going to be possible. Quickbooks has become nothing but a massive scam. I want my money back because Quickbooks is not providing what I paid for!
