Can I change a user who has a user type of time tracker to a user type of standard user > vendors and purchasing?

I would like a user to have more permissions now and want to change them from a non-billable user type to a billable user type

Can I change a user who has a user type of time tracker to a user type of standard user > vendors and purchasing?

I can guide you through the steps on how to change a user type in QuickBooks Online, kathrynb.

You need to sign in to QuickBooks Online as the admin to perform the process. Then, follow the steps below to change the user type.

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then click Manage users.
  2. Find the user you want to modify, then select Edit in the Action column.
  3. From there, you'll determine if you can change the user type.
  4. Select Standard user from the User type ▼ drop-down.

  5. Select the user settings you want to manage (if applicable).
  6. Click Save.
  7. Ask the user to sign out and sign in again into QuickBooks Online to see the updates.

If you need more help with managing users' roles and limiting their access to specific tasks, check out this article: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

After making the changes, the Standard user is now billable. If you need to view and manage usage limits, I'm adding this article for more details: Learn about usage limits in QuickBooks Online.
