Hey, Courtenay.
If you are logged in as the Admin, you can close QuickBooks for another user. All you have to do is follow these steps:
- Click Company from the top menu
- Select Chat with a Coworker from the drop-down
- From the Actions drop-down, select Close Company File for Users.
- Select the user whose QuickBooks you want to close.
- Select Close Company File.
- In the Confirmation window, select Yes.
If for any reason that doesn't work you can always try restarting your QuickBooks Database Server Manager. Here's how:
- Open QuickBooks on the server computer.
- From the File menu, choose Open or Restore Company.
- Select Open a company file then Next.
- Find your company file and select it.
- Select the Open file in multi-user mode check box, then click Open.
- Log in to the company file with your normal user name and password.
- Choose File > Close Company/Log off to close the company file on the server.
This will logoff all users. If you have any questions let me know. I'm only a comment away
