Can i run a working trial balance on calendar year for fiscal year end company? using quickbooks online?

Thanks for coming to the Community for your concern, @accounting476

You can customize the date of your report under the Report period according to the fiscal year-end of your company. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu, then enter Working Trial Balance in the search field. You can also browse for the report in the Reports menu.
  2. In the Report period dropdown, select the length of time you want to see.
  3. In the date field, select the start and end dates, then select Run report.

You can also customize it to modify the display and then memorize it to save its customized settings.

Feel free to message again if you have additional concerns. I'm always here to help.

Not correct answer. QB still gives fiscal year data for income statement accounts when run trial balance. On line version we do nto have working trial balance only trial balance. Not sure if working is just added columns for adjustments.

Not correct. QB still gives fiscal year data for income statement accounts. Guess limitations with QB.

Also we do not have working trial balance for on line version only trial balance. Not sure if difference is working T/B has adjustment columns. Thanks for trying to help

Hi there, accounting476.

Thanks for dropping by the Community this afternoon, I'm happy to clarify some things on these reports for you. With the Working Trial Balance report which is a trial balance that is in the process of being adjusted, we unfortunately do not have that report available here in the United States at this time. I can see how this would be beneficial to you, your business and many other QuickBooks users alike so for that reason, I'm going to suggest this report gets added to the product in a future update. You can check out our QuickBooks Blog to see what changes are coming in future updates.

Thanks for your time and if you have any other questions, feel free to post here anytime.

Any updated on this function?  It seems a very basic ask to have a TB for both the tax (calendar) year that is correct and will report correctly despite the company setup as fiscal year.  Is this something being worked on?

Being able to run a working trial balance is our priority, jbooze1.

I can see the importance of running a working trial balance for a correct tax calendar year. You'll want to let our product team know how this will benefit for your business needs. You can go to our Customer Feedback page so you can send a request by clicking the Give feedback option. I've added this screenshot for your visual guide:

While the option isn't still available, you'll still need to to review the trial balance created one at time to make sure this is error free. In addition, QuickBooks provides different reports that provide your business information. Learn how to customize them, so you'll get the recurring information that you need most. I've got this article for more details: Customize Reports In QuickBooks Online.
