Can you please open another claim to transfer the Master Administrator to my name? Thank you!

I’m here to help transfer the master administrator rights to your name. If you already have the access rights to the company, we’ll have to edit the user type and change it to the right one.

Here’s how:

1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner to select Manage Users under Your Company.
   
2. Choose your name and hit the Edit link to open the Edit user settings page.
   
3. From there, press the User type drop-down to choose Make master admin.
4. Once done, we’ll send a verification code to the phone number or email on file for your account.
5. When you receive it, enter the information and hit Continue.
6. Choose Make master admin to confirm the changes.
7. Go to Settings and select Sign Out to log out as the current master admin.

When you receive the invitation email, make sure to open the link to accept it. However, if you don't have access to the Manage Users page or unable to find the previous master admin, I recommend you get in touch with our QBO Care Team.

They have to collect personal data for account verification. Once done, our support agents will assist in processing the master admin claim. Here’s how to contact them:

1. Go to the Help menu to access the Search window.
2. From there, scroll down to choose the Contact us link.
3. In another window, type the issue/topic in the field box and hit the Let’s talk button.
4. Choose Start messaging or Get a callback.

What documentation are you requesting for the change of master admin?

We'll request you to send some documents when processing the master admin claim. These will prove your legal rights to the company data. Here are the following:

• Proof of your identity (Photo ID)
• Proof of payment- (if applicable)
• Proof of company ownership by business type.

Our Customer Support team will process this and then you'll receive an email requesting documents. Master Admin claim’s processing time averages from 3 to 5 days upon receipt of documents.
