Changing Account type

I am trying to change an account from Equity to Expense  The account had sub accounts, so I removed those.  I then tried to change they account type and get this error even though there are no longer sub accounts associated with it.

You cannot change the type of an account with subaccounts.

I tried changing browsers, icognitio mode etc.  Still did not resolve the issue

Changing Account type

Hey, @Ledel Enterprises

It's great to see a new face here in the Community. Let's work together to get this account changed over properly.

To clarify a few things, can you provide me with a screenshot or a video of the following:

  • Error message
  • Parent account

In the meantime, I recommend signing out and then back into your QBO account, as well as reviewing this guide:

Change the type of an existing parent account or subaccount in QuickBooks

I'll be waiting for your response!

Changing Account type

The first screenshot shows the account I want to change.  It has no sub accounts

The second shows the error I get when I try to change the account type.

I tried different browsers, incognito mode, signed in and out etc.

There were some subaccounts that were inactive that were not showing up.  It is fixed now.  Thanks!
