Let me help and provide information about running a report with an inactive account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
When you delete or make your accounts inactive, it doesn't erase your transactions so running reports will not change. Also, as long as there is a transaction linked to your accounts, whether active or inactive, you can still see it in the report based on the specific period. However, If you make that account inactive before creating a budget, that account won't show when you're running a Profit & Loss report.
