convert or export

I am trying to send company files from my mac 2020 to the oncoming bookkeeper who uses QBO windows. Nothing is up to date and reconciled and I am unable to fix this due to medical issues. I cannot get my file to convert or export. What are my options?

Let me suit your needs to export your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac file to QuickBooks Online, @MarthaCR.

You'll want to appoint your trusted user to help convert or export QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac files to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Desktop file as the admin.
  2. Select File, choose Export, and then To QuickBooks Online. (You can also use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Command + D).
  3. Hit Get Started.
  4. Select Export all your company file data.
  5. If you use inventory, you can choose whether you want to move inventory or not.
  6. If you already have a QuickBooks Online account select Yes, sign me in, and enter the credentials.
    If you don't have a QuickBooks Online account, select No, I need to create a new one and create a new account.
  7. Select the QuickBooks Online company to move your data to, then hit Continue.

Once done, your file migration will start. Feel free to check these pointers after you move your data to QuickBooks Online:

On the other hand, if you don't have someone who can manage and move your QBDT for Mac file to QBO, I recommend contacting our QBDT for Mac Care Support team. They have advanced tools to help navigate to your QBDT for Mac file and migrate them successfully to the QBO platform.

Please add a comment if you have other QuickBooks migration concerns. Anytime I'll be around to help you out. Stay safe and get well soon, Martha.

@MarthaCR

Are you still using QBD 2020 or have you decided to switch to QB Online later and leave your QBD 2020 behind? Which MacOS do you run?
