Delete User on Expired QBO Subscription

I have a client that added me as an admin user instead of an accountant last year before we migrated back to Desktop.

Every time I login to my QBO this company comes up in the QuickBooks Companies Section where I have to select my Accounting Firm in the Accountant Section to get to my QBO.

I can go into this company even though the subscription has expired, and even to Manage Users, but there is no option to delete me, just to look at Activity ...

How do I get myself out of this account when the master admin is no longer available and their subscription is cancelled ???

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, @AEIILLC.

Let's remove the canceled subscription from your list of companies so it won't show up when you're working in the client list. In just a few simple steps, you'll have this client as inactive. Here's how:

  1. Go to Clients from the left-hand menu.
  2. Locate the canceled subscription on the list.
  3. Press the Edit client drop-down menu from the Actions column and select Make inactive.
  4. Hit Yes to confirm.

That's all there is to it! I'll be here if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have a great rest of your day.

No ....

Please read the actual issue I am having ...
I know how to remove one that is listed in my Accountant Account ...
This Company is listed during login as a QuickBooks Company (see screen capture) Blue Door Builders

And as I explained in the issue, there is no option to delete myself once I go to that company.

Hi AEIIILLC.

Thanks for stopping by the Community this afternoon. Unfortunately, the only way to remove yourself from the account would be to have the Master Admin of the account do it. I'm happy to provide the steps on how to do it if you can get them to access the account. The steps are as follows:

  1. Select Settings ⚙, then Manage Users. If you can’t select this, you don’t have permission to manage other users. Contact an admin user for help.
  2. Find the user you want to delete. Select the small arrow icon in the Action column.
  3. Select Delete, then select Delete again in the confirmation window.

Note: The history for your users is available in your audit log, even after you delete a user.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to post below. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Again I have already listed the issue:

"I can go into this company even though the subscription has expired, and even to Manage Users, but there is no option to delete me, just to look at Activity ...

How do I get myself out of this account when the master admin is no longer available and their subscription is cancelled ???"

@AEIILLC

Try create a dummy email address for this purpose. Assign it as another Admin to remove your other email address.

It is a CANCELLED account ...

There is no option to add or delete a user or accountant ...

I am assuming that if I were to reactivate the account, the options would become available, and possibly then I could an a dummy user with admin rights ...

I don't think I could delete my current account without do this and then try to cancel again ...

This should really be a simple solution from someone in QBO support to fix this ...

Maybe they just want another $20.00 ???

Allow me to step in, @AEIILLC.

The data is available for read-only access for a year the moment they cancelled the account. From the date of cancellation, any users can't modify any transactions nor access other functionalities.

The only and easiest way to delete yourself within the system is to resubscribe, then reach out to the master admin of the account since they can control the entire subscription. He/she can also ask additional help from our Technical Support team.

Let me know if there's anything else you need with QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Please take care.

The Master Admin died at the end of last year.

No one has any login information for the old account.

As I mentioned before this should be a very simple correction by QBO support, but obviously it is not.

  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. On the How can we help field, enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose a way you'll want to contact us either, Start messaging, or Get a callback.
