Hi there, Steve. I'll help you with disconnecting your CPA from your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
In QuickBooks, you can lock your accountant out by removing him from the Accounting firms tab. Let me show you how:
- Sign in to your QBO account as a primary admin.
- Go to the Gear icon, then click on select Manage users.
- Select the Accounting firms tab.
- Find the CPA's name from the result.
- Select the small arrow dropdown ▼ in the Action column and then Delete.
- Hit Delete to confirm the action.
Once done, the CPA can no longer access and will be locked out from your QuickBooks file.
Just in case you need to invite a new CPA to manage your books, use this link as your reference: Invite an accountant to review your books in QuickBooks Online.
Aside from CPAs, you can also learn more about handling other users with specific roles or permissions from here: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.
