Does deleting personal data delete payroll?

I'm trying to delete my personal data but received a message that deleting personal data may include payroll. Does deleting your data delete your payroll from an organization or just a record of it?

Does deleting personal data delete payroll?

I'll share some information on how deleting your data as an employee works in QuickBooks Online Payroll, @ST48.

 

If you do not have any payroll records, you can delete your data. However, if you have payroll records, you cannot delete your data. In this case, you can update your status to Terminated to indicate that you are no longer active. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online Payroll account.
  2. Hover your mouse to Payroll, then select Employees.
  3. Choose the specific employee you want to inactivate.
  4. Click on the Actions button, then Delete employee.
  5. You'll receive a prompt, then click on Change status.
  6. From there, hit Terminated to mark the employee as inactive.
