Duplicate customers, projects, and transactions

On September 6, all 800 of my company's projects disappeared. A QB support tech online was able to locate the discarded projects and restored them one by one. It took him approx. 45 minutes to bring them all back. Since then, some jobs in QuickBooks and Tsheets are showing multiple duplicates. To further explain, Customer A has an ID number of 1234, and they have a job code located under their customer profile, labeled as 111. Now, 1234-111 still has its job on QB, but there is also now an individual, new customer profile with the account number and name identical to the job. There are two lines of the same number. One a customer, and one a job. In Tsheets, this is populating as a duplicate, empty project that does not feature all of the same Project Posts that are located in the original project that was restored by QB support.

This new pattern is seen in some customer accounts and projects on Tsheets without any common denominators as to indicate why. What do these accounts have in common and how is it connected? Upon checking the system log for that day, one user somehow activated a mass action of "Delete job code ####-###" and deleted numerous job codes in a one minute span. I did not verify if it was equal to  the 800 projects that went missing, but it was pages upon pages of data points of job codes that were deleted according to the system log at the same day and time the projects disappeared. Additionally, upon questioning, this user does not recognize or have a memory of doing any action in QB or Tsheets that is identical or directly connected to the events of the mass project deletion.

If the Quickbooks community could assist me further, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Duplicate customers, projects, and transactions

I appreciate you for reaching out to our Phone Support team, stbwfs.

If you did delete the job/customer, do not create a replacement job or customer. Instead,  we recommend you unassign the code from your team members.

Though your team members won't see it when they track time, it will remain in your Jobs/Customers list and is easy to restore.

At this point, you can delete the jobs in QuickBooks and Tsheets that are showing multiple duplicates.
