Buy nowHello - we use QB Enterprise, remote hosted. When my employee logs into QB, it is asking him to log into the Intuit account, as it does periodically. I don't want to give him my (admin) login, and I am not available when he logs in due to time differences or other factors. Can he log in with the Intuit account he had to set up when I added him as a user? When I'm logged into my Intuit account (which is the admin), I don't see him listed there.
Thanks for posting here, @traceyhhf. Yes, your employee can use their own Intuit account login to open your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise company file, but only after you have properly invited them to be an Intuit Account user.
Here's how to add Intuit account users within your QBDT account:
Once your employee accepts your invitation and links their own Intuit account, they can use their Intuit account email/user ID and password. You may want to read or share this article with your employees about opening a company file with Intuit account credentials: Create or open a company file with your Intuit account.
The QBDT Company file user login, which includes a username and password, allows a user to sign directly into the company file and defines their permissions within the file.
On the other hand, the Intuit account serves as an additional security layer and is exclusively used to manage access to connected Intuit services, such as QuickBooks Payments, Payroll Direct Deposit, Payroll Workforce, QuickBooks Time, Receipt Management, and others. This is why added users in your QBDT account are not listed in the main Intuit account.
This information should help you retain control over your admin account and have your employee log in securely using their own unique credentials to manage your QuickBooks account. I encourage you to leave a comment below if you run into any trouble or if the invite doesn't go through. We're always here to lend a hand.
