If you're being asked to do more CAPTCHA account verifications while signing in, but have already successfully completed one, I'd recommend troubleshooting the browser you're using. It's possible this could have something to do with temporary internet files, or system requirements for QuickBooks.
In regard to having to do a text message authentication before successfully signing in, you can turn off two-step verification in your Intuit Account settings.
Here's how:
You'll see a confirmation message that 2-step verification has now been deactivated for your account. An email will also be sent confirming the new security preference update.
If you're using a different phone number, you'll need to submit a proof of identify form to change it, then turn off 2-step verification.
In regard to mileage tracking, I'd initially make sure your books are set up properly to automatically track miles:
After turning automated tracking on, you'll also need to authorize your app to use location services. Steps for doing so can likely be found on Apple or Android's websites. When location services aren't active, automated tracking won't function properly, so be sure to confirm this setting is turned on.
You can refer to our Automatically track mileage article for more information about categorizing and editing mileage after it's been tracked. There's also additional troubleshooting processes available in our Fix mileage tracking issues articles for both iOS and Android devices.
If any of these issues continue after troubleshooting, you can get in touch with our Customer Care team for further assistance. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create investigation tickets if necessary.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful Friday!
ZackE -
Thanks for the information! I just turned on 2FA.
The mileage thing - I've been through all the help and 100% am doing all those things.
I even get the notification that QBSE is tracking milage.
Nothing is showing up anymore. It may be that QBSE doesn't like the newest version of android?
I'll triple check everything again today (I have to be on the road) and if it doesn't work, again, I'll open a ticket Monday.
Thanks for responding!
Warm Regards,
David
I reached out to Intuit today - apparently it's a known issue (at least as of today 4 November 2024), they've added me to the list of people experiencing the problem.
So - if anyone else stumbles on this via web search, and everything else is set correctly, chat with Intuit and see if they've got a resolution yet… apparently I'll get an email when it's fixed; but then I might also see the trips showing up again too :).
