Has anyone successfully restored their system from a QuickBooks backup?

I have been trying to restore my QBO system to a date about 10 days ago from both the QBO Backup and Restore app's auto backups and a manual full backup. Each time I do the restore I end up with more garbage inserted in the system.

For example, when I began, I showed a correct credit card debt of $238.00. At the end of one restore point, I showed that the credit card company owed me $22,493.34. Each time I tried to correct this by restoring to a different moment in time, it got worse. All of the restore points were in the last 10 days.

After six tries, according to my QBO records, I now owe the credit card company $47,230.35 and have an "uncategorized asset" totaling $90,666.32.
I also have records in the system that are well dated beyond the date and time I was attempting to get back to indicating. For example, I did a "restore" back to a full manual backup on Feb. 18, 2023, and, after completion, I still had records in the system dated Feb. 26, 27 and 28, 2023.

Has anyone successfully restored their company data to an earlier time? If so, what is the secret to doing it. Thanks for your help.

Use a 3rd party backup restore app and compare them. Did you encounter the same problem?

Inasmuch as the current backup wasn't created with a 3rd party app, would the new app be able to read the current backup files?

You are not alone with backup issues. I have been trying for three days to restore from a five day old backup. It wont allow me to select any back up (except the one with the mistake) Three failed conversations with ppl that can not understand english. They read from a script - then try and sell me quickbooks payroll service. I asked to speak to a supervisor, yea "no" they wont allow you to. I asked if they could elevate to someone else in tech support and I was disconnected. I bought a book on QB online - followed directions, same result. Follow directions from QB help - no result. Despite the claim that you can restore from "any date and time since first backup" the last person in help center - said they done support any restore except from the last one created. Anyone know of another software program similar that they like?
