How can I disable the frequent logout? It is only a half hour it seems and it forces me back to login, which makes me complete a capcha, then a 2fa SMS. Too much!

It's far too much to ask me to complete a full login process every brief moment, with both a capcha and 2fa thru SMS. I'm on the exact same computer every time, but it still logs me out after brief inactivity - even just minutes - and then requires the full process again to log back in. I even have 2FA set to "off" but it still requires it, that toggle switch seems broken. How can I make this behave like a normal web app? Thank you!

I got your back to ensure you'll not  experience the same thing again about the frequent logout when using QuickBooks Online (QBO) can cause, james-jameshost-.

We recognize the importance of having the option to keep QuickBooks signed in without automatically signing out due to inactivity. The program has a timeout feature that automatically logs you out after the maximum allotted to your account when you are inactive. This feature prevents unauthorized persons from accessing your data every time you're away from your device.

If you wish to keep QBO logged in longer, just set your company to stay online or active for up to 3 hours. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Go to the Gear Icon.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Select the Advanced menu.
  4. Scroll down to the Other Preferences section.
  5. Click the Pencil Icon.
  6. In the Sign me out if inactive for drop-down, select 3 hours.
  7. Click Save and press Done.

Please be aware that even if you've set your company settings to sign you out, you'll still be logged out when you experience a small break in the internet connection. You may not even notice if there a brief connection issues, however, it will affect QBO but not affect other sites. For more details, you can check out this article: Change the timeout duration in QuickBooks Online.
