How can I get the Shopify sales tax that shows on the app transactions to show on the sales tax liability report?

Hi, @decals_on_demand.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) includes all line items and tax amounts when exporting orders from Shopify to QBO. I recommend ensuring that the sales tax data from Shopify is mapped correctly before exporting and running the Sales Tax Liability report.

If the sales tax amount doesn't show in the report, we'd have to export the sales tax data to a CSV file, check for the proper CSV file formatting, and manually upload the sales tax data to QBO. Let me guide you through the process of manually uploading a CSV file:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Select the Link account dropdown and then Upload from file.
  4. Select Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then select Continue.
  5. Follow the onscreen steps.
  6. When you accept your transactions, select Done.

When this still doesn't work, I recommend contacting our QBO Support team. They have the necessary tools to help you configure the connection between your Shopify app and QuickBooks, and provide you a workaround.

I'll leave this article as your guide in customizing reports and categorizing your uploaded transactions as future reference:

Thank you for that information. I am afraid the mapping is not correct. While you gave quite a bit of great information, the mapping was not covered. Can you please tell me how / where to do that?

Thanks again.

Good afternoon decals_on_demand,

Thank you for chiming in. Based on some research, it seems as if the mapping of items occurs in the beginning stages of setting up the integration between the apps. What I recommend is to use our QuickBooks Connector by Intuit and inquire about removing or editing the mapping, which is linked below.

Please let me know how the conversation goes! I will be here waiting for an update! See you soon.
