I'm here to guide you on reverting to the classic view in QuickBooks Online.
Aiming to improved navigation, and faster performance, please know that we've rolled out a new way to run your reports called Modern View. Starting in May 2024, we will gradually introduce this update for Standard Reports in QuickBooks Online.
Moreover, to revert to the classic view, open a report such as the Transaction List by Customer, and click on Switch to classic view located above. Refer to the accompanying screenshot for guidance:

Additionally, you can run and print the reports you view by following the instructions in this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online
If you have any more questions or seek deeper insights about switching to the classic view in QBO, don't hesitate to continue the conversation. Happy learning!
I see your point and find the new view to be bad because it wastes a ton of space on either side with only a narrow report window. It also makes scrolling more challenging as line items are hidden. As a result, I only want to use classic view.
Your advice works; however, every time I edit a transaction and return to the report, it dumps me back into the crappy new view, and I have to click the button to go back to the classic view. Is there a way to force QBO to always show the classic view and not continually jam the new one into my experience?
The option to make classic view the default setting when opening reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable, jl_678.
We recognize your need for this functionality and would appreciate your feedback on your experience with switching to modern views. Please send us your thoughts through your QuickBooks Online company. This feedback will help our product developers consider the possibility of restoring the old view.
