When I do so, it says the User ID is already being used - which is an old account that we apparently had. Can I keep the User ID which differs from my email, or can I delete the old account and then readd and attach to the email. It's just confusing as we ended up with multiple accounts over the years.

Hi, thank you for your response! I even sat on the phone with QB yesterday for over an hour and had no luck getting to a resolution.
I have found the page at accounts.intuit.com that has an option to remove a user ID. But when I click remove a user ID, a red circle with a slash appears but nothing else happens? Do you know how to delete one?
Hi, this is exactly what I need to do but evertime I try, I get an error message in red above my User ID "Account services unavailable, please try back later". I have tried this for 3 days. I got on a call with QB yesterday and after an hour they escalated my issue. But, today, I got an email stating they could not replicate my issue so my case is closed :-).
I'm still having no luck and I did clear cache and cookies and tried microsoft Edge. I was on the phone yesterday with QB for over an hour and they couldn't resolve it even after escalation.

I suggest reaching back out to our Customer Support team to let them know that you're still unable to change the user ID. Just take note of your case number and provide it to them to reopen your case. They'll continue to check your account in a secure environment and help you resolve the error. You can reach them by going to the Help icon at the top right of the account.
