How do i change the user?

i am the treasurer of aa small non-profit and am resigning. we use the lowest level of quickbooks that allows one user. currently i have my name and email entered as that user. i want to delete myself from the account and have the new treasurer establish himself as the new user. i want all the data to remain untouched so that when the new treasurer is set up as the user of the account he will be able to access all the data. my fear is that if i delete myself as the user there will be no way to sign into the account to set up the new user. i can't add the new treasurer as a user and then delete myself while i am still on the account as the version of quickbooks only allows one user. so how to i transition the account to the new treasurer?

Hi there, Chic.

 

Even if you're using QuickBooks Online Simple Start with only one user allowed, you can still transfer the Primary Admin of your account to another, and I'd be glad to assist you in doing it.

 

In this case, you'll need to let your new treasurer request to be the primary admin for your QuickBooks account. Please know that we'll need documentation to verify that they have the rightful ownership or access privileges for the account.

After transferring your role to your new treasurer, they can consider learning how to track fund donations they receive via different payment methods in QuickBooks Online.

It is easier to upgrade your plan to Essentials and invite the new treasurer. You will transfer the Primary Admin role to the new user and remove your email address later. The new Primary Admin can downgrade the plan back to Simple Start.
