How do I get a profit and loss detail report if it is not available in my list of reports?

It's great to have you here, Starr. I acknowledge the significance of the Profit and Loss Detail report for analyzing your business's financial performance.

Please know it is exclusively accessible in QuickBooks Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions. If you're using the Simple Start version, this is unavailable.

For more information, check out this article: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription.

If you're using the Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions, let's troubleshoot this together. An accumulation of historical data can lead to unexpected behaviors.

Let's open your account and search for the Profit and Loss Detail report using an incognito window to eliminate the possibility of a webpage issue.

You can do this by using the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl+ Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Return to your regular browser once the report appears. Then, clear your cache to start afresh. If the issue remains, consider switching to other supported browsers installed on your system.

If you're using Simple Start, consider upgrading your subscription. Here's a step-by-step approach:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Click the Subscriptions and Billing option.
  3. Hit Upgrade your plan in the Billed to You section.

Once you've upgraded, we can pull it up by following these guides.

  1. Head to the Reports menu.
  2. Type in Profit and Loss Detail in the search bar.
  3. Choose your preferred date period.

Furthermore, you can customize your reports to view and analyze data relevant to your business.

I hope the details provided have addressed your concerns. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything else you would like to discuss. My goal is to ensure you have all the information needed. All the very best, Starr!
