How do I get my pay types in Time to syncing to QBO? Mine are not syncing even though they are set up in both correctly.

Welcome to the Community space, @Adelaine! I'm here to help you optimize data synchronization from QuickBooks Time to QuickBooks Online (QBO) for accurate employee pay type display.

The integration of QB Time with QBO and Payroll streamlines the mapping of payroll items within QuickBooks Time. Consequently, the worker's pay types from QBO should also show in your employee configuration inside the Time company. For more details, please see this page: Set up QuickBooks Time in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Since yours are not in sync, I recommend reviewing the pay types added inside QBO and then going through the Payroll Item Mapping Tool in your QB Time. This way, you can check for misalignments and correct them. I'll outline the steps to get you going.

In QuickBooks Online, follow these steps:

  1. On the left navigational bar, click the Payroll tab, then select Employees.
  2. Select your employee.
  3. From Pay types, select Start or Edit.
  4. Review and select the applicable pay types.
  5. Once done, click the Save button.

After ensuring details from QBO is correct, proceed to your QuickBooks Time and go through this process:

  1. Select the QuickBooks dropdown and then choose Preferences.
  2. Click the Payroll Item Mapping Tool.
  3. Select the pay type for each employee.
  4. Close the window when you’re finished.

Refer to this article for further guidance: Fix an error when syncing hours between QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Online.

Once done, go back to your QB Time account and then click the QuickBooks logo to sync the data again. Check out the screenshot below to see what it looks like.

Moreover, here's a reference to help you in managing timesheets inside QB Time: Approve, unapprove, and reject timesheets for QuickBooks Time.

I enjoyed helping you optimize data synchronization for employee pay types in QuickBooks. I look forward to your visit or any comments below to enhance your experience with the program. Stay safe!
