how do I make an account active

The steps to activate an account depend on the type of account you want to activate, Sonia. I'll provide a couple of scenarios below.

If you're looking to reactivate an account from the Chart of accounts, you can go directly to that page. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper right corner and select Chart of accounts.
  2. Click on the second Gear icon (located next to the Printer icon) and check the box for Include inactive. This will allow QuickBooks to display inactive accounts in the Chart of accounts.
  3. Use the search box to find the account you want to reactivate and select Make active.

On the other hand, if you need to reactivate your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, please refer to this article: Resubscribe or reactivate.

Additionally, if you require expert guidance from a bookkeeping specialist, you can consider reaching out to our QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted team.

Whether you're looking to balance your books or manage your subscriptions, here are some helpful resources:

With the steps outlined above, you should be able to successfully activate your account. If you have any further questions or need clarification about reactivating an account, please let us know in the comments. The Community is here to assist you.
