Hello there, @tshepard1. It's nice to hear from you.
The Profit and Loss report has a default format. It displays based on the account used on the item and the created transaction. Moving the Other Income between Income and Cost of Goods Sold is unavailable. This always shows at the bottom part of the report.
As a workaround, you can export the Profit and Loss report to Excel. From there, you can manually move the Other Income and Total Other Income between Income and Cost of Goods Sold. To do it, click the Export icon. Then, select Export to Excel.
However, if you're referring to update the data that's recorded under the Other Income to Income or Cost of Goods Sold. You can review the items used and change the income account to the correct one. The data will then move to Income or Cost of Goods Sold. Here's how:
Then, continue with these steps:
Afterward, go back to the Profit and Loss report and double-check if the data is moved under Income or Cost of Goods Sold. That will do.

Hi tshepard1
Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about the Profit and Loss report. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at anytime.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
Looking for assistance please....last fiscal year Other Income showed up on the bottom of the P&L reports. This year when I run a P&L comparison the figures are not showing....is there something I need to do differently in the account set up?
Thanks for posting an update here, @MAC007.
If you experience any unusual issues with your reports, make sure the date is correct. This way, the report will pull the correct information for you. If that doesn't work, click the amount beside the income account to get the transaction details. If it was for a different year, run some browser troubleshooting steps to fix it. Unexpected issues in QuickBooks are sometimes affected by the amount of data stored in the cache. This is because a regular browser will constantly overwrite the data and will not remove history unless done manually.
Private browsing will not save any history, so it's a great place to identify issues in the browser. Use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:
Once done, try to open the Reports tab and see if you get the same problem. If it works fine, clear the cache to resolve browser issues in QBO. Using a different browser can also help.
However, if the same issue persists, I recommend getting in touch with our Support Team. They can help report this to our engineers who can help with program bugs and other technical concerns.
This thread is always open for additional questions and updates about this reporting concern. Mention me anytime to notify me. I'm always right here to help.
On our profit and loss report, under 'Other Income' category we have Tip Income listed. The preference is to have Tip Income listed under the 'Income' category at the top of the report. Can this be done through the chart of accounts? If yes, how? And if no, why?
Cheers!
