How do I restore old QuickBooks back up files with QuickBooks online?

Before we start, please know that QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a cloud-based application that functions differently from QBDT. That said, the two applications operate differently from one another and have distinct features including its process of restoring data.

Since you don’t have a QBDT company, we can utilize an online tool where you can upload your .QBB file. That way, we can move these data to your QBO company file. 

Let’s start by accessing the tool from this link: QuickBooks Pro/Premier. Then, select Get Started and sign in with your Intuit Account. 

After that, upload your file by following the steps below:

1. Tap the Select file then browse to the .QBB file you have. Know that you can only upload one file at a time.
   
2. Then, select Open to upload this. Alternatively, Drag and Drop the file to the designated section to upload it.
3. Once uploaded, it will auto-update the file to the latest version of QBDT.
4. Next to it, you’ll see an option to move this to QBO.
5. Follow the on-screen guidelines to walk you through moving to QBO.
