How do I run a report on just my checking account for a period of time?

I'll help you run a report with only your checking account, @TerryS54.

A great way of tracking your daily business's performance is by running a specific report in QuickBooks Online(QBO). We can customize this report to meet your needs. Let's run a Transaction Detail by Account report and customize it to view the daily cash balance of your checking account.

Here's how:

  1. On your Reports tab, run Transaction Detail by Account
  2. Select Customize and set the Accounting method to Cash.
  3. Enter the desired Report period.
  4. Expand Rows/Columns, select Day in the Group by field.
  5. Click Change columns and check at least AccountAmount, and Balance. Reorder columns as needed.
  6. Navigate below to Filter to add the Transaction type.
  7. Click Run report and Save customization for future use.

Additionally, you can export your report to Excel if you want to use your reports outside of QBO.

Finally, you can memorize your report to save the current customization setting for future use.

If you need further assistance running reports in QBO, kindly comment on this thread. I'm always here to assist you.

How do I run a report on just my checking account for a period of time?

When I run a transaction report by account as instructed by AdonL,  I get ALL my accounts.

I only want my checking account in the report but these instructions don't show me how to do just one account. I need additional help please!

Thank you!

I appreciate you for coming back into this thread, TerryS54.

Thanks for the clarification. Since you only want your checking account to be included, let me guide you to your Account QuickReport.

  1. Go to Transactions, then choose Chart of accounts.
  2.  Filter the account, then click the drop-down beside View register
  3. Select Run report.
