How long does company back up take to complete?

Mine has been running 2 hours and is still going. I don't even want a back up. I am trying to copy the company but it won't let me without backing up first.

How long does company back up take to complete?

Hi there, @coo-bodylovecafe.

I'll share details about creating a copy of your company in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

Ideally, the time it takes to create a backup copy of your online company varies depending on the size of your account. It'll not take an hour or so as the minimum time to create your file.

Yes, @Fiat Lux - ASIA, is correct. Let's log in to your account via an incognito or private browser to determine why creating a backup copy of your company is now taking 2 hours to run. You can do so by following the shortcut keys below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P
  • Edge: Ctrl Shift + N

Then, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache if the private or incognito browser works fine. But if you get the same result while using a private browser, let's switch to different supported browser versions instead.

Now that you're able to create a backup file and copy your company, here's an article you can use to identify other features you can use in QuickBooks: Help Articles in QuickBooks Online. In the reference, you're able to read subtopics that will describe how a feature is used and how to accomplish tasks related to its functions.

I've got you covered if you have questions aside from creating a copy of your company in QuickBooks. Don't forget to include my name, @JonpriL, in your reply in the comments below so that I can get back here and lend a hand. Take care always, @coo-bodylovecafe!
