Using QB 2021 desktop for Mac. Googled a few sites and then came here. We do a fair amount of web hosting which we bill quarterly. I want to be able to automate invoicing for every three months. The instructions online usually say "go to gear" and, unless I'm missing something, there is no gear in QB for mac. Also no menu item for recurring invoice. Attached is screen shot of my menu choices. Thanks in advance for your help.
Good morning, @OnPoint525.
Thanks for taking the time to swing by the QuickBooks Community. It's great having you here.
You're right. You won't see the gear icon in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac because you typically only see that option in our web-based products, like QuickBooks Online.
In QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, you use our memorized transaction feature. This will let QuickBooks memorize it for you, so you get a reminder every time it's due. QuickBooks can automatically enter your memorized transactions to save time. I've included some steps to walk you through this process below.
Once you've set up the memorized transaction, you're ready to use them. You can see additional information about memorized transactions in Create, edit, or delete memorized transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care!
Thanks for the info.
Another question related to same issue. The most recent hosting invoice says Jan. - June 2022. The next invoice *billing period* should be July - Dec 2022. Will I have ability to update billing info before releasing invoice to client? Don't want to send a new invoice with old billing period.
Hey there again, @OnPoint525.
Thanks for coming back and asking more questions about memorized transactions.
Yes, you'll have the ability to the update billing information before releasing an invoice to the client. All you need to do is change it before the invoice is sent to your client.
You should be set after that. Feel free to hop back in if you have any other concerns. Bye for now!
