How to transfer the master admin role if the current master admin has left the organisation

Let me begin by welcoming you to the Community. I’m here to share a few details on how to transfer the Master Admin role in QuickBooks Online.

 

The current Master Administrator is the one who can transfer the MA rights to another user. If you’re still able to reach that former employee, I suggest contacting them and have them transfer the role to another user.

Once the transfer is complete, the new Master Admin can log in and remove the former employee’s profile.

 

If this isn’t possible, you can contact our Customer Care Team for assistance in transferring the Master Admin role. They can gather sensitive information, while this is a public forum, and switch the MA role for you.

Please note that the process normally takes a minimum of 48 hours. Rest assured, this will give the new Master Admin the permission needed to run the business.
