HUGE price increase with NO WARNING

Where is your company located? I am not sure you are using QBO US version.

Allow me to share details to help with your questions about monthly fees, small non profit.

The was a recent price increase for all QBO subscriptions effective August 1, 2022. 

Any changes to monthly fees and other subscriptions are emailed every time there are changes to them. We started sending out the notifications as early as the first week of June. 

However, the increase was only an average of $5 dollars and not as high as the one you mentioned.  For example, Simple Start's new monthly fee increased to $30 from $25, Essentials from $50 to $55, and Plus from $80 to $85. Here's an article about the changes for more details:

Other reasons that can cause changes to your monthly fee include additional employees, subscription upgrades, and expired promotional discounts. Let me share these articles for additional references about this matter:

Last year they took out around $600 out of my account for QuickBooks in December.  This year it's $1,400 with no warning.  Will it by $2,800 next year.  This is the dark side of capitalism.

Do you have QB Desktop Premier Plus for single user with no payroll?

Just spoke to Intuit - as of 10/1/2024 price annually will be $ 2,800

It’s a boldfaced lie the average increase is $5.00. I was just billed $1400. That plus payroll charges plus I believe I paid to renew my desktop license in January. Outrageous for a small business. But at least it makes it easier to justify finding other solutions.
