Let me share some info and guide you in changing the Master Admin in QuickBooks Online.
If you still have the current admin's login credentials, you can add yourself as a new user and then change your role to admin.
Like this:
- Log in to QuickBooks Online as the current primary admin.
- Go to Settings ⚙.
- Choose Manage users.
- Find the user you want to make the primary admin.
- In the Role column, make sure it's listed as Admin. If isn't, select Edit, then change the role to admin.
- Select the small arrow ▼ in the Action section. Then, select Make primary admin.
- For security, we send a verification code to the phone number or email on file for your account. When you receive the verification code, enter it and select Continue.
- Select Make primary admin again to confirm the change.
- Sign out of QuickBooks.
You'll then receive an invitation email, asking you to select the link and accept the invitation to be the primary admin.
Otherwise, if you don't have the current admin's login information, you can send a request to be the new primary admin.
Also, If you’re an accountant, you must be the primary admin of your firm to change the primary admin role in a client’s account.
