“I don’t have an SSN, only an ITIN, to complete my registration for receiving credit card payments. What should I do?”

I’m not able to complete my personal information because I don’t have an SSN, only an ITIN.”

We appreciate your interest in applying for QuickBooks (QB) Payments to accept customer payments electronically, speedpool9.

Please know that the platform requires users to provide an SSN rather than an ITIN because QB follows the sponsor bank standards and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.

That said, I recommend reaching out to the Social Security Administration (SSA) to check if you're eligible to apply for an SSN. They're the agency responsible for issuing SSNs for tax-paying individuals and business owners.

For more information about setting up a Payments account, check out this article: Accept customer payments via QB Payments.

@speedpool9

If you only need to accept B2B payments, you can use your ITIN to sign up with a third-party payment processor and sync it with QBO.
