I'm here to help you delete your checking account in QuickBooks, emdccllc@gmail.c.
If the checking account is linked to online banking, we'll have to disconnect it before deleting. I'd suggest reaching out to your accountant to ensure this change is right for you.
- Go to Banking and then select the Banking tab.
- Choose the account you want to delete, and then click its Edit icon.
- Select Edit account info.
- In the Account window, select Disconnect this account on save.
- Click on Save and Close.
Once you're ready, here's how to delete your account:
- Go to the Gear icon and then select Chart of accounts.
- Find the checking account you want to delete.
- Select the Action drop-down menu and then select Make inactive.
If the inactive account contains transactions, it'll remain in your company data including your reports. For more details, please see this article: Delete an Account on Your Chart of Accounts.
In case you'd like to stop the inactive or deleted accounts to appear on your financial reports, I encourage browsing this article to learn how: Handle Deleted Accounts.
Please stay in touch with us here in the Community if you need help managing your accounts. I'll be around to help you further.
