I need my quickbooks updated. I cannot get past login prompt for username and password. What i have isn't working.

Since you're having trouble logging in to your account, QuickBooks desktop has an option to reset your password. Let's go to the QuickBooks Desktop Login window so you can open your company file. I'll walk you through the steps.

1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.

2. At the login window, click I forgot my password. 

3. Hit OK.

In case you got an error in resetting your password, you can use the Automated Password Reset Tool. 

Here's how:

1. Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/reset-passwords/use-the-automated-password-reset-t....
2. Select your  QuickBooks version on the Version drop-down arrow. 
3. A product information window should pop up. Enter your QuickBooks business information, then click Next when you are finished. 
4. Accept the license agreement and hit Download. If it asks you to Run or Save the file, choose Save and save it to your Desktop. And the email that contains the access token will be sent to only the same address you originally entered.
5. From the QuickBooks Desktop Products drop-down, select the same version. 
6. Choose Browse for Company File, then locate the file, and enter the correct Company File Admin User Name. 
7. Enter your New Password and then Confirm New Password.
8. Tap Reset Password to complete the process.
