It’s with heavy hearts that we hear you preparing to leave, @mateusz1. Yet, I want to assure you that you can maintain read-only access to your data until the tax filing deadline.
Rest assured that once you close your subscription, you will retain read-only access to your data for one year. Throughout this span, you'll be able to view reports and access your historical information. However, please note that you'll be unable to make any changes or create new transactions during this period.
To get started with canceling an account purchased online or directly from Intuit, please follow these steps:
If you're canceling a subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, please refer to this article: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.
Additionally, it's advisable to export any critical data before cancellation to facilitate your tax filing process. Also, ensure that you have all necessary reports and data exported or printed before your subscription ends.
If you find yourself needing to have access within the one-year read-only period, you can resubscribe to QuickBooks using the same login details, which will restore full access to your data.
Your QuickBooks family is always available to support you whenever needed. If there's anything else you require while you're going through the process of closing your QuickBooks account, let us know. We're always here for you.
Hi,
Thanks for the response. I use QuickBooks Online. It would be wonderful if I could keep read-only access for one year after canceling my subscription.
Can you please confirm that I am eligible for it with Online offer? I spoke with your colleague on chat and she informed me that I should try to download all the needed documents on 31st of December 2024 and I will loose access to my account in January if I stop paying.
Can you double-check which information is correct?
Best Regards,
Mateusz
You can access your account for 1 year in read-only mode after canceling it. Another option, convert your data to QB Desktop and you can use the trial version to access your archive fie for good.
Hi, @mateusz1.
I'm here to clear things up on how QuickBooks Online (QBO) cancelation works.
After you cancel your subscription here in QBO, you're eligible to have read-only access for one year. You can still export all your data as long as it is within one year of read-only access. For example, you canceled your subscription on December 17, 2024, and your read-only access will end on December 17, 2025.
If you change your mind in the middle of the read-only access, you can always resubscribe again.
Please read this article for more detailed information: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?
You can refer to this article to Export your QuickBooks Online data. There are more topics included that you may read to be guided on exporting your data herein QBO.
If you have further clarification, please leave a reply below. It's my pleasure to assist you. Have a great day ahead!
