Buy nowI'm a senior citizen on a fixed income. If I can't afford to renew my subscription, will I lose all my data or can I continue to use QB but without support?
Which QB Desktop year version do you run?
When is your license renewal due?
Good day to you, @oakhill12600. Thanks for posting your concern about your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) data when you don't renew your subscription. Let me provide details on how you can secure your financial data.
With the annual version of the QBDT program, you'll only be able to access the view-only mode for 1 year if you don't renew your subscription once it expires.
During that time, you won’t be able to edit your data with your inactive license. But you can renew your subscription or export your data. This only means that you'll have to reactivate your service to view and manage your data after 1 year. For more information about the process, please refer to this article to see what you can and can't do while you work in view-only mode: Renew your subscription or use view-only mode in QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, you'll want to make sure you've exported any key reports you want records of, like profit/loss statements, balance sheets, etc. Also, do a full backup of your company file to preserve all data. Please refer to these articles for the full details and steps:
Feel free to post again or comment on this thread if you have more questions or concerns about your company file data. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Stay safe and have a great day!
