If I disconnect bank login, and reconnect using a new login that the bank gave me, will my QB online information reconnect for accounts that were already there?

Recently got an additional business bank account on top of 3 I already have.  Bank was not able to connect that new bank account my existing login because it had different EIN.  They had to upgrade my online stuff to a commercial banking experience that has the old accounts and new account.  The old login is also still active for the time being.  If I disconnect QB from the old login and then login with the new login, will my older accounts that were there be able to sync? or will it risk creating new bank account registers for the older accounts?  Asked Support and they were dumbfounded.

I can share some information about disconnecting a bank account login, @m110.

Yes, you can disconnect the online banking account in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Your existing accounting data will not change if you disconnect an account from online banking. Just make sure to categorize all the transactions in the For Review tab.

Follow the steps below on how to disconnect an account from online banking:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, select Transactions, and then click on Bank transactions.
  2. Choose the tile for the bank account, select the pencil icon (✎) and click on Edit account info.
  3. Select the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  4. Click on Save and Close.

Refer to this article about disconnecting a bank account: Disconnect accounts connected to online banking in QuickBooks Online

Here's how you can use bank rules to automatically categorize transactions from your bank. Check out the setup bank rules to categorize online banking transactions article for more information about speeding up the bank review process.

You can always drop by here if you need further information about disconnecting accounts in QBO. I'll be happy to assist you further. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you so much!  Got all that...but when I reconnect the same bank accounts with a different bank login, will QB recognize that those were the existing accounts that were there? or will it think these are new bank accounts that need to start fresh?
