@lrinfl. I'll share some insights about migrating QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Self -Employed (QBSE).
I agree with Fiat Lux - ASIA. The option to migrate from QBDT to QBSE is currently unavailable. Since QBSE is designed for a specific type of business owner like, freelancers and self-employed individuals.
Although, you can manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed using a CSV file. I'll show you how.
- Go to the Profile icon and select Imports.
- Click Import transactions.
- Follow the onscreen steps to upload the CSV file.
- Then select Import.

However, if you're moving from QBDT to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:
- Let's make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to its latest release.
- Check if your company file isn’t too big to export.
- After that, sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
- Navigate to the Company menu, then choose Export Company File to QuickBooks Online.
- Select Start your export.
- Then, open a browser and sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
- Choose the QuickBooks Online company you want to be replaced by your company file from the Choose online company menu.
- Tick Continue.
- Enter the word Agree in the text field, then Replace.
- Hit Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then select Replace.
