So, I entered over 1k entries that were downloaed and showed up on the import. I logged back in and all the transactions had disappeared including the ones that were saved in the register. Has anyone experienced this and how did you fix it? All the rules created are still there so I know I am not crazy. I tried the rebuild but that did nothing. Where did it all go? Is there a fix? Do I have to do 1k entries again!

Hello @THERESAJOYCE,

Thank you for sharing the troubleshooting steps you tried to let the system show up your transactions appear to be missing in your company data. Let me share a few reasons and help you get back your transactions.

To start with, are working with multiple company data in QuickBooks Desktop? If yes, let's review to make sure you have opened the correct company data you're working with.

But if you can confirm you're working with only one company data, restoring the latest backup copy you created ensures your transactions didn't disappear. And so you can review them accordingly.

However, if the latest backup copy does not include your transactions, I'd say importing them again is the option to fix. Also, here's a reference with guidance about how you can work well with your transactions: Download and Import Transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Lastly, I've got you this reference helpful for the steps to make sure your statement and account is balance: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me updated in the comments if you have any other questions aside from QuickBooks bank feeds. I'll be here to assist you. Stay safe!

Considering I have been using Quickbooks since 1997, surely I know I was in the correct file. I have never had this happen before where the data just disappeared. I also couldn't re-import the data. So what I did was delete the entire American Express file that was the issue after moving all of the payments to another Amex account file. Then I imported a new file from American Express. Fortunately all of the rules I had created were still there. The confusing thing is while the data was not there, the total showed (Quickbooks vs the Amex) that the data was there...so it was hiding somewhere. I just hope it doesn't come back. Anyway, I am back in business now with so much work to do! I have read in other threads that this has happened before.
