Intuit accounts unhinged from QB application creating real problems

Does anyone know how QB Desktop Intuit account can unlink from the application? And how to fix it so Admin login can edit permissions under user roles? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Intuit accounts unhinged from QB application creating real problems

Thank you, @Accounting4All, for bringing this to our attention. I'd be happy to offer some insights about the option to unlink the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) application from the Intuit account and address admin login issues to adjust permissions within user roles.

Currently, QBDT doesn't provide a direct option to unlink the application from the Intuit account as they are inherently integrated for service management and updates. This integration is designed to streamline access to Intuit's online services and features.

Moreover, to address admin login issues, ensure you are logged in as the Admin to modify permissions within user roles. Also, ensure that your QBDT account is updated to the latest version. Follow the steps below to edit permissions:

  1. Navigate to the Company menu and choose Set up Users and Passwords. Then, select Set up Users and Roles.
  2. Enter the admin password and press OK.
  3. Go to the Role List tab.
  4. Please select a role and click Edit to review its permissions.
  5. In the Area and Activities section, select an area of your accounts. You can select NoneFull, or Partial to set the access level.
  6. Once you set the permissions, select OK to save.

For detailed information on reviewing user permissions, please refer to this article: Create and manage users and roles in QuickBooks Desktop.

I will include this article to help you learn how to configure data-level permissions for a user's job role, allowing you to grant access only to the areas of QuickBooks necessary for their responsibilities: Create data-level permissions.

Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions regarding unlinking QuickBooks Desktop from Intuit and managing user permissions, @Accounting4All. I'll be more than happy to answer them.
