Inventory Management

I need a way to be able to scan a barcode that will allow me to add or decrease inventory quantity to an existing inventory item. For example.  "I have SKU#123 in the system showing quantity of 10, I scan a barcode assigned to that SKU and add 10 more making the total quantity 20 and have that reflect on my QuickBooks inventory account.

QBO cannot accommodate it.  You need to look into 3rd-party apps that integrate with QBO.

Do you have a suggestion that would work?

Inventory Management

Hello there, @Manage3.

We understand that barcode scanning can be helpful for you to track your inventory efficiently. However, this feature is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In the meantime, you can use a third-party inventory management app to integrate with QBO. To find an app, you can follow these steps:

  1. From the left navigation panel, choose Apps.
  2. Open the Find apps tab.
  3. Type any keyword in the search bar or select the Browse category dropdown menu to explore different apps.

To help improve your experience with QBO, your valuable feedback goes directly to our product development team for review and consideration.

Here's how to send it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or suggestions.
  3. Click Next to submit.

To learn more about using barcode scanner with other QB products, check out this helpful resource: Set up and use barcode scanning in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can explore this one

If you prefer to use your mobile phone as the scanner, you should explore another inventory management app.

QuickBooks probably knows better what features are needed by most customers, and the rest is left to advanced plans and 3rd party extensions.

Consider using Warehouse 15 for QBO from Cleverence. It's a great middleware that works with QuickBooks to manage inventory using mobile devices. It can print labels, scan barcodes, and track inventory effectively. This will ensure your inventory is always accurate in QuickBooks and simplify your workflow.

Hi there!

You can manage your inventory by scanning barcodes in QuickBooks. Unfortunately, QuickBooks doesn't natively support this feature directly. However, you can use a third-party solution like Cleverence Warehouse 15.

Cleverence Warehouse 15 integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks and allows you to scan barcodes to update inventory quantities. You can add or decrease inventory by scanning the barcode, and it will automatically reflect in your QuickBooks account. This solution helps streamline your operations and ensures accurate inventory management.

You can learn more on Cleverence website.

Hope this helps!
