Invoice Transaction does not exist

When I look at "Invoice Tracker" an invoice appears that is no longer valid.  To get rid of it, I right clicked and selected "Edit Highlighted Row".  I then get a QB message (see attached) that says "This transaction does not exist in the company file"  How do I get rid of this transaction so it does not show up in this list?

Invoice Transaction does not exist

Hello, Mongoose47.

I can help and guide you on how to get rid of the transaction in QuickBooks Desktop.

We can pull up a Transaction List by Customer as your basis. From there, we can verify if the transaction still exists. Then we can delete it from there. Just click the transaction and tap Delete.

Additionally, you can check the Audit Trail report. This shows all transactions that have been entered, modified, and deleted in your company file.

Here's how to run the report:

  1. Click Reports.
  2. Choose Accountant & Taxes.
  3. Select Audit Trail

Don't hesitate to leave your questions or clarifications in the comments below, if you have any. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Stay safe!
