Is anyone having trouble with the app since the "helpful" update?

The app that QB is no longer supporting is giving me trouble ever since the "update" that they said they would stop. It seems like they want to force us into the browser version.

I'll share insight on the decommissioned desktop app for QuickBooks Online (QBO), @gstraka.

Since the desktop app or the out-of-browser version is no longer receives any updates, you'll have a better experience using an internet browser.

Other features available for QBO are listed in this article: Accessibility features in QuickBooks. It lists a short description of features available for QuickBooks Desktop, QBO, and QuickBooks Payments.

Is anyone having trouble with the app since the "helpful" update?

QB said that the desktop app will continue to operate without updates which was fine for our needs and that there would be no more updates.  And then QB forced an update on us under the guise of "making the desktrop app more stable", when in reality it took away the ability to have multiple tabs open in one session.  Additionally, closing the desktop app many times now requires killing the software via the task manager.  I suspect QB did not see enough of a migration to the the browser version where we are forced to deal with in browser app upgrade ads.  I think I have figured out how to take the additional steps necessary to open multiple tabs in QB in the browser, but QB would have been more respected if it just issued repeated nag emails of the pending demise and "encouraged" users to get used to the change and not give false hope that users could continue to use the desktop version as long as it worked for us.  A matter of perception?  Yes. but unhappy none the less.
