It appears that the automatic transfer from Self-Employed to Solopreneur has failed. How to I restart that process and try again?

My solopreneur account has no transactions in it currently, and self-employed has many. I'm noticing that the switch to Solopreneur is now indicated in Settings. Yet, there is no data.

It appears that the automatic transfer from Self-Employed to Solopreneur has failed. How to I restart that process and try again?

I contacted Customer Service and they stated that they cannot help me. I can connect all my bank accounts, but it only goes back 90 days and we are at 104 days. So connecting bank accounts isn't a complete solution. Alternatively, I can manually import the data. However, I will need to upload receipts again, and categorize again.

It appears they do not have a real migration solution from Self-Employed to Solopreneur. If you do this process, make sure you do it after your taxes are complete, otherwise you will be in panic mode re-uploading an entire year's worth of transactions. Thankfully, I completed my taxes prior to making the attempt.

Since I'm starting over, I will take this opportunity to evaluate other products before continuing.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the data transfer from QuickBooks Self-Employed to Solopreneur, kaiwuzheer. I understand how frustrating it can be when your data doesn't migrate as expected, especially while trying to manage your business finances efficiently. I appreciate your patience and am here to provide valuable insight and assistance.

Once you upgrade to QuickBooks Solopreneur, you'll no longer have access to your old QuickBooks Self-Employed account. Therefore, it's essential to download and save any necessary reports and accounting information before completing the upgrade.

When transitioning from QBSE to QuickBooks Solopreneur, several key components are automatically migrated to ensure a smooth experience. These include customers, invoices, trips, products and services, bank connections, transactions, and receipts.

For more detailed insights into the migration process, including information about any data that cannot be transferred, please refer to our comprehensive guide: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Solopreneur.

If all your data remains missing in the new Solopreneur account, the best course of action is to contact our dedicated Live Support Team. They possess the necessary expertise and tools to securely access your account and thoroughly investigate the underlying cause of the data transfer issue.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Open your Solopreneur account.
  2. Select the Help icon (?).
  3. Click the Search tab and enter a keyword related to your concern.
  4. Tap the Contact Us button.
  5. Choose a way to connect.

In the meantime, you can manually import your transactions into Solopreneur using a CSV file, which you can obtain from your bank statement. Alternatively, you can connect your bank account directly to Solopreneur to download transactions automatically.

To help you get up and running with QuickBooks Solopreneur, I've included a link to a detailed guide that walks you through the key steps and offers valuable tips. This resource is crafted to help you navigate the new software efficiently. You can find this helpful information here: Introduction to QuickBooks Solopreneur.

I hope this information clarifies the migration process and offers you a path forward. If you have further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reply below. Our goal is to make your transition to QuickBooks Solopreneur as seamless as possible, and we're committed to supporting you every step of the way.
