Manage Custom Fields section. QBO ADV. Cannot control the order of appearance of custom fields.

In QBO ADV, you cannot directly control the order of appearance of custom fields from the "Manage Custom Fields" section because QBO ADV automatically determines the order based on how the fields were added and currently does not provide a feature to explicitly rearrange them; you can only choose which forms the custom fields appear on and not their exact placement within the form layout.

In short, "Not drag-and-drop functionality" and "Field creation order matters" from the "Manage Custom Fields" section.

Any thoughts about it?

Thanks!

Mario L.

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, MLom. I appreciate your detailed information.

I can certainly understand how an ability to control the order of how custom fields appear on sales forms could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Gear icon, then go to Feedback.
  2. Enter your product suggestion(s).
  3. Select Next to submit the feature request.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

You also have the option of checking our QuickBooks App Store for apps which may be able to help you achieve what you're looking to do.

I've included a detailed resource about working with custom fields which may come in handy moving forward: Create & edit custom fields

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have an awesome Monday!

We are so pleased that you understand the obvious. Why your QuickBooks Online designers don't is a complete mystery.

But you should have written is useful, not could be useful.

QuickBooks Desktop has had this capability for at least 20 years, probably longer, because it's utterly obvious to everyone that it's useful and that QuickBooks customers want control over how their sales forms print.
