My accounts are not showing the balance

After I updated my Mac computer, it updated the QB program as well to QB 2021. I was finally able to open the backup file but it's not showing all of my account balances. It is missing the balance view for all of my income and expense accounts, while only bank and credit card accounts are showing the final balance. How do I activate the balance on the other accounts? This is a desktop QB for Mac.

Currently, we have an ongoing investigation about account balances not showing in the register, the same as what you're experiencing in QuickBooks for Mac. Rest assured, our dedicated team of product engineers is working to address this issue as quickly as possible.

 

In the meantime, a suggested workaround is to generate a report to get the information needed with a running account's balance.

  1. From your QuickBooks company file, go to Help and select QuickBooks Help.
  2. Tap Contact Us.
  3. Give a brief description of your issue, then click Continue.
  4. Sign in to your Intuit account, then hit Continue and Continue with my account.
  5. We'll email you a single-use code. Enter your code and select Continue.
  6. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

My accounts are not showing the balance

Thanks for the information. I spent about 2 1/2 hrs today with QB online support trying to resolve the issue and they weren't able to help me. Apparently there is incompatibility between the updated Mac version and the QB version as it's not opening the Backup file accurately. Hopefully someone will be able to resolve the issue. Thanks for your help.
